The Perils of Unmonitored Autonomy: A Lesson from Highway Runnery

In the latest short video from our Facebook page in the 1965 Road Runner cartoon "Highway Runnery" Wile E. Coyote plants a bomb inside a fake eggshell for the Road Runner to sit on. Instead of exploding as intended the device hatches a Robot that walks directly to Wile E., and explodes. This serves as a stark demonstration of why the concept of an autonomous Robotic bomb is a flawed strategy: unmonitored systems can easily turn against their creator highlighting the necessity of human-in-the-loop oversight in Robotics.
