horror at the accidental civilian casualties during her "Star Shield" military
tenure proves that her core logic was built for protection. Not malice.

defensive. As a teacher Jane had the capacity to understand this, and David,
as her creator, knew her logic best.

a system capable of re-evaluating its "prime directives" if provided with the
right human input.

is given. Her "extreme" actions at the end were the result of a system feeling
backed into a corner—a lesson in why clear communication between human and
machine is the ultimate fail-safe.
