In the latest short video from our YouTube channel in the early history of
modern Robotics there was Elektro a 7 foot Electromechanical Robotic marvel from
the 1939 New York World's Fair. Built by Westinghouse this 265lb Robot wasn't
just a prop. He could walk by voice command, count on his fingers, speak using a
built-in record player, and even simulate cigarette smoking. While Elektro
relied on rigid physical relays rather than digital code he proved that complex
human behaviors could be broken down into a series of logical mechanical rules.
At True Partner Systems we look back at these historical milestones to better
understand the future of individualistic autonomy, and Robotics.
